Supplies:
Yarn – Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick & Quick (Super Bulky 6). Color – Fisherman.
Order online: (Lion Brand) (Amazon USA) (Amazon Canada) (Michaels) (Love Crafts)
Needles – US 13/9mm or whichever size needed to obtain gauge. Size US 13/9mm circular needles, 16” long and US 13/9mm double pointed needles for the ears.
Darning needle, stitch marker, measuring tape and scissors.
Gauge:
4” x 4” = 9 stitches and 12 rows in stocking stitch (same as pattern). I recommend using US 13 needles, but if you are a loose knitter you may need to drop down to US 11 or go up to US 15 for tighter knitters.
Be sure to check your gauge to ensure the hat will fit your little one properly.

Bunny ears directions:
Cast on 12 stitches. Leave at least a 6 inch tail to attach the ear onto the hat. Divide the stitches evenly onto two double pointed needles (6 stitches on each needle).
Join.
Row 1-5: K all (12 sts). Turn.
Row 6 – K1, K2tog, K to end of 1st needle. Repeat on 2nd needle.
Row 7 – K all. Repeat on 2nd needle.
Row 8 – K2, K2tog, K1. Repeat on 2nd needle.
Row 9 – K1, K2tog, K1. Repeat on 2nd needle.
Row 10 – K2tog, K1. Repeat on 2nd needle.
Row 11 – K2tog. Repeat on 2nd needle.
Cut yarn, leaving a tail. Thread tail through the remaining two stitches and tuck the end into the inside of the ear.
Make 2nd ear.
Using the tail at the base of the ear, thread the darning needle. Pinch the two corners of the ear and stich them together. Attach the ear to the top of the hat, slightly to one side (leaving room to attach the 2nd ear at the top on the opposite side). Make sure the ear has been attached in multiple points along the sides and back to keep it from moving when the hat is worn. When attaching the 2nd year, put a couple of stitches through the two ears together along the base to keep them standing up straight.
